Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the “Team Warrior Program” (TWP)?
• Team Warrior Program a semi-recreational soccer program offered by Wilton Soccer Assoc.
• A viable alternative to WSA’s Travel soccer or CT Rush’s Premier team. 
o TWP does not require the same level of commitment as travel or a premier program.
o TWP offers a favorable value to cost ratio.
o No try out is required and no one is cut from the team.
• The professorial coaching in this program is geared towards skill and player development.
What are the different age groups in Team Warrior Program?
Teams for each of the age groups are formed separately for boys and girls:
o U9 to U10 (Grade 3&4)
o U11 to U12 (Grade 5&6) 
o U13 to U15 (Grade 7&8) 
o High School age (Grade 9-12) in Fall only
How many games does TWP play?
• One game per week during the season. 
• 8 – 9 games per season.
• Season normally runs 10 weeks.
• Possible Jamboree to add more game type activities.
• The games are held on Saturdays locally in Wilton or neighboring towns.
How often does the team practice?
• Teams practice twice (2) a week. 
• Players can enroll and attend an optional skills clinic for an additional fee.
Who manages and coordinates the weekly practice sessions?
• Professional Soccer Extreme coaches conduct weekly practice/training sessions 
• Volunteer Parent Managers coordinate weekly communication and provide admin support.
• Set training/practice schedules are posted on the WSA website under the TWP info page.
• Field closures due to weather are communicated on the home page of the WSA website.
• Assigned Parent on Duty (POD) is present during practice for injury & late pickup support.
Who manages and coordinates the weekly games on Saturdays?
• Games & referrers are scheduled in advance by the league director from Soccer Extreme. 
• Parent Managers communicate game times, field location weekly with opposing team manager, including any changes to scheduling (e.g.. weather, field or time changes).
• Field closures due to weather are communicated on the home page of the WSA website.
• Games are coached by professional Soccer Extreme coaches.
o In case of scheduling conflicts Soccer Extreme will communicate an alternate coach.
• Technology is leveraged (SI Play iPhone & Android app & www.wiltonsoccer.info) to streamline team in season communications.
What type of equipment is required for all practices, evaluations & games?
1. Own soccer ball (properly inflated)  
a. Size 3 – Pre K - 2nd Grade
b. Size 4 – Grades 3-6
c. Size 5 – Grades 7-12
2. Soccer style cleats
3. Shin guards
4. Water bottle
5. Navy blue uniform (for practice)
6. Sweatshirt for cold weather
7. Arrive 5 minutes early for drop off and pick up.
What uniform do I need to purchase for the Team Warrior Soccer Program?
  • Uniform kits remain very similar to the prior season.
  • So, if you have a uniform from last season there is no need to repurchase a new one.
  • Cost of the TWP uniform kit is approx. $99.
  • The colors of the Adidas kit are navy blue and white and the uniform kits include: 
  1. White home jersey 
  2. Navy blue away jersey (Always bring both jerseys just in case)
  3. Pair of navy blue stipend socks (multiple pairs are recommended)
  4. Navy blue shorts with white stripes.
  • TWP (aka Academy) uniform kits can be purchased locally at: 
• Soccer & Rugby, 15 Ethan Allen Hwy, Ridgefield, CT 06877.
• Orders can be placed via phone, (203) 544-9777 or in person if unsure of sizes. 
  • Please inform Soccer & Rugby the uniform kit is for Team Warrior/Academy & purchase at least 10 days in advance of the start of the season to ensure that you receive it on time.
Registration & Fees:
Is the Team Warrior soccer a year round program?
  • No. Team Warrior Program soccer is conducted twice every year with separate registrations.
• One season is in the spring, and it typically starts the first week of April. 
• The second season is in the fall, and it typically starts the first week of September.
• Each season runs for 10 weeks, ranging from 8 to 9 games usually.
What are the fees for Team Warrior Program?
• Fees for each season are $325 per child.
Can WSA Travel players register and also play Team Warrior soccer?
• If your child wants to play both Travel & Warrior Program they can do so.
  • TWP fee is $40 extra per season in addition to travel fees.
Will each age group have a team in all the seasons?
• Teams are formed subject to registrations. 
• If WSA falls short of players for any of the age group, we will not be able to form teams.
What happens if I register my child and a team is not formed?
• If a Wilton team is not formed due to low registrations, the WSA will also seek opportunities for your child to play as part of the team with another nearby town. 
• If merging with another town does not work, then WSA will refund your registration fees.
What is the purpose of conducting evaluations for U9/10 (Grade 3/4)?
  • Evaluations are conducted for U9/10 (grade 3/4) kids prior to team assignments.
  • This process ensures that we form balanced teams and players have an enjoyable game experience.

• Financial assistance is available to families experiencing financial distress.
